About Us

The Junior Humane Society is a non-profit, all volunteer, animal rescue group. For over 30 years, we have helped animals in the Gulf Coast area.

All animals waiting for adoption are placed in foster homes. Before placing the animal in a furever home, JHS provides all necessary vet care, including but not limited to: shots, spaying, and neutering.

We hold adoptions Saturdays at PetSmart in Pensacola, FL from 12-4. Check our Facebook page or send us an email to see when we will be there next! Throughout the year, we will participate in other adoption events and fundraising events.

Merra's DNA shows that she is a Boxer/Staffordshire Terrier mix. She is a very active (not hyper) 7 year old girl who weighs 75 lbs. Merra LOVES RUNNING, HIKING, SWIMMING, AND RIDING IN A CAR...she's up for any activity! She is great off leash and know all her commands. She needs to be the only dog in a home because she wants ALL of the love (big cuddle bug), but she currently lives with a cat and is fine with that.  Merra is good with kids that are age 10+ just because of her size. She's beautiful and healthy and would be perfect for an active couple. Merra is spayed, up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative, crate and house trained.
