The Junior Humane Society is a non-profit, all volunteer, animal rescue group. For over 30 years, we have helped animals in the Gulf Coast area.
All animals waiting for adoption are placed in foster homes. Before placing the animal in a furever home, JHS provides all necessary vet care, including but not limited to: shots, spaying, and neutering.
We hold adoptions Saturdays at PetSmart in Pensacola, FL from 12-4. Check our Facebook page or send us an email to see when we will be there next! Throughout the year, we will participate in other adoption events and fundraising events.
This is Ben! Do you have working dog experience? If so, Ben might be the right dog for you! Ben is an 8 month old Dutch Shepherd who weighs 40 lbs. He is a high energy puppy who is literally right "off the chain" and VERY happy with his newfound freedom! Ben is in a foster home now where he quickly caught on to the doggy-door and learned to "sit" consistently in one afternoon. He is EXTREMELY intelligent and needs an experienced owner. He's very loving and loves attention and praise. He walks well on leash. He would excel at obedience training and would make a great running partner. Ben loves all other dogs and loves to play, play, play. He also likes to chase lizards and squirrels. Due to the high prey drive of the breed, small animals such as cats or chickens are not advised. Ben is up to date on all shots, neutered, microchipped, housetrained, and is heartworm negative. If you would be interested in making Ben a part of your family, please contact Pam for an adoption application. An approved adoption application and home visit as well as an adoption fee apply.
