About Us

The Junior Humane Society is a non-profit, all volunteer, animal rescue group. For over 30 years, we have helped animals in the Gulf Coast area.

All animals waiting for adoption are placed in foster homes. Before placing the animal in a furever home, JHS provides all necessary vet care, including but not limited to: shots, spaying, and neutering.

We hold adoptions Saturdays at PetSmart in Pensacola, FL from 12-4. Check our Facebook page or send us an email to see when we will be there next! Throughout the year, we will participate in other adoption events and fundraising events.

Merra is Boxer mix around 7 years old. She is up to date on shots, spayed, house trained, and crate trained. Merra ended up in rescue due to no fault of her own. Her mom loved her very much and took excellent care of her, but sadly, she couldn't keep Merra when she was being stationed overseas.

Merra has been with JHS for over a year now, and she continues to get overlooked. She has lots of energy and needs a home that loves adventures, like hiking and swimming. Merra is great off leash and know all her commands. Merra would do best with no other dogs in the home, but she gets along with cats and doesn’t mind other dogs out in public.
